VN Dalmia threw a party at LAP for his daughter Himani who got married two days back. The theme was retro, and it was referred to as the old people’s party but we thought a party for the young at heart would have been a more suitable name as the guests kept to the theme and wore Afro wigs and cat-eye glasses.
JJ Vallaya, Sita Raina, Nasser Abdullah and BC Burman were seated in a corner and spent the evening over drinks, snacks and chit-chat.
“You know a few days back I was shooting with Neha Dhupia,” Nasser said, adding, “She was getting her make-up done and a housefly was irritating her. I caught it and asked her what she would give me. I was expecting her to say kisses or at least a dinner, but she offered me the wine bottle in the ice bucket.” Disappointed much?
The dean of the Darden University, where VN and Akash have both studied, was at the party too. “This is going to be our first Hindu wedding,” said the dean and his wife, who took a short trip to Ranthambore recently.
Himani and Akash came to the party after the piano recital at their residence at which Pranav, Himani's brother, played four sonatas.
